This is a project carried out recently in Lower
Withington which involved the complete renovation of
the above property. The property started off life as a pair of farm workers cottages, which had been combined to form a single property, and over the years had been extended in an ad hoc manner. Internally walls were removed to give an improved layout more suited to todays family needs. An injection damp proof course was installed. The house was completely rewired. A new plumbing and heating system was installed. A new staircase was fitted complete with a galleried landing. Purpose made softwood double glazed windows were fixed throughout. Cottage style boarded doors were hung in softwood casings internally. A new kitchen was fitted complete with an Aga cooker. The property was completely decorated internally and externally.

As can be seen from the above pictures, the external
walls of the original property were rendered and the
walls of the extensions were finished in Cheshire
facing bricks. In order to give the finished project uniformity, it
was decided to construct an additional skin of
Cheshire facing bricks to the gable end and the
front elevation.
