This project was carried out for the Pentecostal Church in Barnton, near Northwich. They had purchased a disused old folks home from the Local Authority and wished to turn it into a place of worship. The contract involved the removal of all the internal walls and services from the first floor area, together with the removal of the flat roof and the construction of a pitched roof. |

The first part of the contract involved cutting sixteen holes through the existing roof covering and decking to allow the steel trusses to be fixed. Steel roof trusses were used because the church wanted to raise the level of the roof internally to give a greater feeling of space. The idea being that the underside of the rafters would be boarded to give a large open space vaulted ceiling. |

Before the existing flat roof could be removed and the pitched roof constructed, it was necessary to erect a waterproof tent over the entire building to protect the existing fabric from water ingress |
